Budwig Diet - Google Budwig Diet for more information
This is a cancer diet, - but you don't have to have cancer to benefit from this amazing food!!!!!!
I am writing this from my personal experience.
A few years ago, my sister, who was battling lymphoma discovered this wonderful diet in her research.
I had been battling a crippling eating disorder following a breakdown. Food was a real problem all day, but the worst part was being absolutely unable to face food for the first half of the day. I was surviving basically on  one meal at night. My sister was so excited about it, I decided to try it, and it literally saved me.
If you have any of the following problems, I strongly recommend you give this a go.
*  Low energy
*  Over weight
*  Eating disorder
*  Cancer
*  Depression

 You can google heaps of info on this budwig diet, but I am going to write for you my simplified version, and what I do.

The main part of this diet is cottage cheese, and flax-seed oil.
The addition of high value berries ie blueberries, also adds many other health benefits.
The video on the website explains how the cheese bonds with the oil, and becomes easily absorbed by the body in a water based form,

For me, I struggle to afford the flax-seed oil, so I just use more of the freshly ground linseed (than the official Budwig recipe says) . I use a magic bullet to grind it for that days' use. The oil is all right there, in the grain, and really fresh!!!!
Linseed oil goes rancid very fast. You can freeze it once its ground if needed. Never buy ground linseed, no matter how reputable the brand might be.
I make my own cheese and will also give instructions for this below as well.

Please see another "articles of interest" page called Kefir Yoghurt for the yoghurt if you wish to check this out.

My version of the Budwig Diet
For two people:
8 desert spoons of whole linseed ground - (I get a good deal from Binn Inn buying 5 kilos)
A few almonds ground with the linseed
6 desert spoons of cottage cheese

1 banana - You can use any fruit you want
Berries - I buy frozen - blueberries mainly, and add for a change strawberries or blackberries

Yoghurt if I have it - but not essential
Mix with stick blender and you can add a little milk or water if its too thick.
Its like having pudding for breakfast.

It keeps you going for much longer than a standard cereal breakfast.
If i miss it for just one day, I really notice the difference.

Cottage Cheese - so easy it takes literally a couple of minutes!
4 Litres of Milk - (I generally use 2 of whole milk and 2 of skim)
2 cups of white vinegar
An oblong plastic strainer and a piece of calico or very fine cheese cloth.
(I will post a photo as soon as I can)
Method:
Using your little finger as a thermometer, heat the milk to "hot" bath temperature, stirring so it doesn't catch on the bottom.
Also heat the vinegar to the same temperature (I use two cups, and heat each one in the microwave for 40 seconds) - yeah, I know, pretty bad.......
but each person will find the best way for them with this once they give it a go or two......
Ok, so now you have your milk and your vinegar hot.....
Stir the milk so its moving, "plop" in the vinegar, stir once or twice ONLY - round, round, out!
and watch the beautiful huge curds form.
I leave it to stand anything from 5 minutes to half an hour depending on what I am doing.
Line your strainer, and pour in mixture and allow to drain.
Rinse with cold water and drain again.
Once its drained, scoop into a plastic (or glass) container and keep in the fridge.
You can use this cheese in quiches, omelette, and heaps of other things, its much nicer tasting in the breakfast than bought cottage cheese.

Oblong plastic strainer - from the $2 shop
Calico from any surplus store, if you are stuck - ask me, I can send you some.
