Increased Freight Charges
Some of you may notice an increase in our freight charges. This is because until recently, we were able to accommodate our rural customers by shipping to them with New Zealand Post for a similar cost to sending all our town customers via NZ Couriers. Now NZ Post are insisting we add a rural sticker to all Parcels with a rural address. Over and above the cost of the post bag, $3.70 Rural delivery sticker has to be added. This makes it very expensive, especially if it is a low cost item to begin with. So, for the smallest bag, which is $3,with rural sticker it is now $6.70. The next size bag, has gone up from $4 to $4.50, plus the rural sticker is now $8.20! We have tried all sorts to try to come up with some way of working round this, but unfortunately there isn't one. Our only suggestion is get a P.O. Box, as we can still send New Zealand post to these without the extra freight charge. Or have your parcel sent to a work address, family or friend in town perhaps, or something along those lines. We apologize for this, but we simply can't absorb this added rural charge. Best we can do is explain so you know its not us trying to make a profit from shipping. Also because we have to round up and down the way the online store calculates shipping, there are unders' and overs slightly there, but we will keep an eye on this, and adjust as needed.
